Email Design & Paid Social
Design email layout for a holiday sale campaign & to be applied to future campaigns & flows.
Goal:
Boost sales via email with engaging email design & clear copy. With very little branding & assets come up with something not stereotypical rock & roll, but still nurture & build brand recognition. Combine holiday season trends with industry & branding.
Results:
Overall average open rate, average click rate, orders placed, & revenue per participant is up.
Solution:
Additional:
Two successful flow designs that utilize same process & layout as original email campaign. Adobe After Effects used to create GIF for one of the banners.
After A/B testing animated email banners vs static images we found no clear winner. The decision is left up to me each campaign.

Process:
Research apparel & music industry trends. Compile mood board of client branding & ideas. Read through content from copy writer to grab any extra details on topic.
Wireframe a layout that works well for selling physical products. Sketch design ideas for various sections of email. Bring rough draft to Adobe Illustrator & start incorporating assets from mood board to fill in the artboards. Paste in copy & start mocking up different layouts for headings, categories, CTAs, & body copy.
Create gift guides to break up long form copy & keep it as simple as possible to convert openers to buyers.
Use table blocks for product features to condense length & they are mobile friendly.
Use rough textures, patterns, & hand drawn stylized vectors to add rock & roll aesthetic. Create Christmas icons in Illustrator to relate to season.
More Email Examples:
I start all email designs with research into the client’s industry and brand. I then take that and current design trends that are successful creating conversions to begin sketching an email template and banner designs. Once a base layout is formed, I take it to Illustrator. Using that, Photoshop, and After Effects I create each section of the template. The template is used to create automations and is used as a base for monthly campaigns.

Paid Social Ads:
For creating paid social ads a similar approach is taken. After receiving copy and overlay from writers I generate a visual concept that works with the ad focus. Staying up to date on trending concepts helps guide me in my design decisions so that I know there is evidence for success and a higher likelihood of stopping someone in their scroll to engage with the ad.
